Welcome to the Big Blether website.

The Big Blether is an event that has taken place every two years or so at various venues around Scotland.

It's general aims are to provide a meeting space for people to share ideas, inspiration, and knowledge in order to take action on environmental and social issues.

The last Blether took place at Talamh in South Lanarkshire from May 9th - 11th 2008. At the closing meeting many people felt that it would be good to hold the next Blether in a year (instead of the usual 2), though concerns were raised that we don't want to change the feel of the event by growing it too much as it is fairly small and through it's intimacy it gives people a great chance to connect with each other. So...

We are looking for the next venue who would like to host the Blether: probably in May 2009. We like being outside: though some indoor accomodation for people who want or need it wouldn't go amiss. There's a general feeling that it would be good to hold it somewhere North of the Central Belt, but we're open to any and all ideas: if you have any suggestions please let us know (email anyone @ bigblether.org.uk fill out the contact form). Likewise: if you want to get involved: or give us any input whatsoever: please drop us a line:

The Big Blether is a non-hierarchichal, autonomous organisation and is open to all.
