The Big Blether 4 1st - 3rd October 2004* The Big Blether is Scotland's biggest activist gathering where activists from many campaigns make camp in a green space for a weekend of workshops, information and inspiration. The last Big Blether (2002) was at Talamh Life Centre in Lanarkshire. Around 150 people from all over Scotland and beyond came together to discuss some of the issues of the day. Some of the campaigns, issues and topics we will be blethering about this year include: Camcorder Guerillas G8 Summit, Gleneagles, 2005 Indymedia Permaculture & Community Gardening Class Struggle Using the Scottish Parliament Scot's Language Capacity Building Bio-Fuels Faslane Peace Camp Willow Weaving Identity, Sexuality and Anarchism Legal Rights Refugees and Asylum Zapatistas, Chiapas Scottish CND- Fortress Scotland and more... There will also be a programme of relevant films being screened in the Pixie Pictures cinema dome. This year we will be holding the Big Blether on October 1st- 3rd* in Culdees, an embryonic community situated in Fearnan on the north side of Loch Tay in Perthshire. A beautiful location that is being transformed into a permaculture community. [*it may be cooler, but at least we'll be midge free] Food & Accomodation We are hoping to be able to provide two simple hot meals (for a reasonable price), but this has not been confirmed at time of press.
